Privacy policy
This policy explains how «LAYER» LLC handles information when you use the LayerPx website and planning app. For questions or data requests, email supp@layerpx.com.
Your account and Google sign-in
We store your account ID, email address, display name and account creation date. If you register with a password, we store a password hash. We may also store the source of your signup and referral information.
If you choose Sign in with Google, we validate Google’s identity token and use your Google account identifier, verified email address and, when supplied, name to create or sign in to your LayerPx account. We store the identifier to recognise that account on later sign-ins. LayerPx does not receive your Google password or store your Google profile photo.
Google sign-in does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or other Google account content. We do not store Google access or refresh tokens for ongoing access to Google APIs. Google also processes the sign-in under its privacy policy.
Boards, cards and sharing
We store the boards and cards you create, including titles, notes, task status, labels, dates, assignments and other card settings. We also store board membership, invitations, sharing settings and activity records that identify who made a change.
Board members can access content according to their permissions. Your display name can appear to other members, and board owners can see members’ email addresses. If you create a public link, anyone with that link can view the task tree you share. You can revoke the link, but revocation cannot remove copies someone has already saved.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure accounts, save and synchronise your work, support collaboration and sharing, process the AI actions you request, respond to support requests and understand product use and reliability. Access records, usage limits and operational logs help us diagnose failures and prevent misuse.
Storage in your browser
LayerPx keeps a local database and pending edits in your browser so you can work offline and synchronise later. Browser storage also holds your LayerPx session token, preferences, note drafts and signup or referral attribution. Some local data can remain on that device after you sign out.
Clearing site data in your browser removes local copies and may also remove edits that have not yet synchronised. It does not delete your account or the copies held by the service.
AI features and optional connections
When you request a built-in AI action, LayerPx sends the text or selected branch used for that action, relevant card notes, your instructions and ancestor titles used as context to the configured AI service. The service can be Cerebras or Moonshot, depending on LayerPx’s configuration. We store AI request content, responses and usage or error records to deliver results, manage limits and investigate problems.
Connecting an external AI client, such as ChatGPT, is optional and requires a separate board-access grant. Information returned to that client is also processed by its provider under its own terms and policies. The LayerPx MCP connection privacy policy explains selected-board access, permissions and revocation. Revoking a connection stops future access; it keeps your board and does not remove copies already returned to the client.
Product analytics
When enabled, LayerPx uses PostHog for page views, product-use events and reliability diagnostics. Analytics associate your LayerPx user ID and display name with those events. That name may come from Google if you signed up with Google. The analytics identification call does not send your email address.
Automatic click capture and session recording are disabled. Our product-event tracking does not send card titles or note text. PostHog analytics are disabled on the AI connection consent page.
Services that process information
LayerPx uses Railway with PostgreSQL for its backend and stored data, Vercel for hosting, PowerSync Cloud for synchronisation, PostHog for analytics and Resend for invitation emails. These services process information needed to provide their functions and may process technical request data and operational logs. Google, the AI services and connected clients described above also process information when you use those features.
Retention, deletion and your choices
We keep your account information while you have an account. We keep boards, including boards in Trash, until you make a confirmed request for permanent deletion. Moving a board to Trash does not permanently delete it; it can be restored.
For privacy questions, corrections or a request to permanently delete a board, an account or other personal data, email supp@layerpx.com. We first confirm your identity and what you want deleted. We complete the agreed deletion within 30 days after those details are confirmed. You cannot currently delete an account yourself in the app.
Our goal is to retain backup copies and service logs for no more than 30 days where our providers support that limit. Actual retention depends on each provider’s available controls. Copies may remain in backups or logs after deletion from the active service. Copies that collaborators or connected clients have saved outside LayerPx are handled separately from deletion within LayerPx.
